Mixed blessings with the fishing just lately. Fished Pennine with Dave Chilton on the Tuesday last week and we had just two small ones each in eight hours and had to work hard for those, going through dozens of flies and methods.

Had another go on Friday with Dave Colclough and I had 17 to about 4lb and Dave had 15 to 6lb. Dead easy that day and we could have had more had we tried. All to white and yellow buzzers fished 2ft deep.

Then on Sunday I fished our local club match and won it on the pole with 4lb 10oz of roach and perch, which again puts me in line for the club championship for the third year running. One more match to go and a place in the top three will clinch it.
