I had a newsletter from a fishing web site forwarded to me the other day and it said that John Wilkins has just made one of the most amazing bream catches in history.
That in 24 hours he had caught twelve doubles in a fourteen fish catch that weighed 152lb.
Well, there is no arguing about that being one of the most amazing bream catches in history.
It went on to say that this is second only to a catch by John Wilson of fifteen doubles in a session and knocks Graham Marsden’s catch of ten doubles in a day, down intothird place.
So I thought I’d better just put the record straight on a couple of points.
My catch of double-figure bream numbered 13. They were caught on the float, and in two hours.
