With over £27,000 in match prize money up for grabs, river fishing’s most prestigious weekend has once again secured backing from Shakespeare, Wychavon District Council and Match Fishing Magazine.
For anglers there is a huge display of tackle on display with everything from the latest gear to the bargain basement and for the family and non anglers the festival has a lot more to offer including a much-extended craft fair. The venue, Evesham’s Crown Meadow, is also hosting its first real ale and cider festival, with over 30 real ales and ten traditional ciders on offer. For the kids there is a fun fair and the chance to try fishing on the dedicated coaching area at the top end of Crown Meadow.
For the second year running, the event is being attended by key members of the world-beating Drennan Team England and world champions Will Raison, Alan Scotthorne and Sean Ashby will all be competing on all three days in this year’s event.
The big name anglers attending each day reads like a who’s who of match fishing, with names like Dave Harrell, Callum Dicks, Keith Hobson, Wayne Swinscoe, Denis White, Lee Kerry, Jon Arthur and Mark Downes amongst many others.
Gates open at 8.30am, with anglers competing between 11am and 4pm. If you head for Evesham the event is well signposted but for more information and directions click HERE
