Hemel Hempstead, Herts specialist Warren Gaunt fished a southern gravel pit to take a 17lb 4oz bream.

It is the first 17lb bream ever recorded and the biggest ever bream caught by an angler targeting the species.
Warren, 29, fished sweetcorn over a weedbed on leger tackle at a range of 140 yards.

The bream is the fourth biggest ever landed. Warren commented: ” When I saw the fish weighed an awesome 17lb 4oz I was over the moon. I’m really proud that the fish has it’s own spot in fishing history.”
