FISHRITE BIVI SLIPPERS
Price: £ 14.99

Well, I’ve got to admit that when I first heard about bivvy slippers I laughed out loud and thought, “what will they think of next?”

Then I thought about all those times when I’d leapt out of my sleeping bag in the night to answer the call of a persistent bite alarm, only to have to delay the strike while I slipped on a pair of wellies, or shoes with no laces. Or run out in stockinged feet and get my feet wet.

More times than I care to remember I’ve gone A over T on the slippery bank in my haste to lift the rod into the fish. It wasn’t good fun.

So, enter the Bivi Slippers, and these Bivvy slippers from Fishrite are the best I’ve seen. They look like a proper pair of slip-on slippers, only made from waterproof plastic/rubber.

They have a very good deep grip sole that gives excellent grip on muddy banks, but best of all, they are so easy to get into. You just leave them at the side of your bedchair, swing your legs out of bed and pop your feet straight into the Bivi Slippers with no trouble at all. It’s as fast as running straight out. No delay, no wet feet, and back into bed with dry feet when you’ve returned the fish and cast a new bait back out.

FISHINGmagic VERDICT

For fifteen quid, a night-fishing bivvy angler shouldn’t be without a pair. They’re very good indeed and nothing to laugh about, except that you’ll have dry feet and probably a dry backside when you don’t fall over. And that at least brings a smile to my face.
