FISHRITE WEIGH SLING Price: Medium £ 6.99, Large £ 7.99
Fishrite’s new range of weigh slings are made in an olive coloured, soft, closely woven mesh and come in two sizes, medium and large. They are very light and dry easily after use.
Two draw cords with triangular scale-hook eyelets provide the weigh points and each end of the sling has pockets to contain the fish safely whilst being lifted above the unhooking mat.
Scale hook eyelets on a strong cord
The cord, eyelets and material stitching is strong and withstood far more force placed on it in an attempt to break it than would ever be used in a fair weighing situation.
The medium weigh sling is eminently suitable for barbel and lesser fish, while the large size is the one you need for carp.
At seven quid for the ‘medium’ and eight quid for the ‘large’ it’s not much more than you’d pay for a good carrier bag at a posh superstore. There is no reason for any angler who weighs his fish not to have a decent weigh sling to do the job safely and accurately.
Only the test of time will decide how long they last, but they look up to lasting a good lifetime to me.
