The Fishrite winner for March is Kevin Timney from Newent,Gloucestershire. Kevin, bought a £ 6.00 rig wallet from Fishrite, told FISHINGmagic about it, and it was his name that came out of the FISHINGmagic cap. He chose the X-treme Jacket and X-treme Fleece Jacket as his prize and he has already received them direct from Fishrite. Kevin said, “What can I say . I am thrilled to have won! Thanks very much. “I bought a carp rig wallet from Fishrite. In fact this was the second one I bought . I find them extremely useful, not only for keeping rigs in but also for packets of hooks to nylon, PVA bags, spare catty elastic, fishing licence, club membership cards, instructions for hook tiers and rig set-ups, I also have a couple of laminated cards with shot/olivette/styli weights and conversions stored in them. They are ideal as they are water resistant, take up little space in the kit bag and are only £ 6-00 each. “I returned to fishing about a year ago when my son became keen. After a gap of about 15-20 years I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality of tackle and the relatively cheap prices compared to the ‘old days’ . The techniques, methods and baits have also undergone a transformation in that time and I have enjoyed learning about them, although not always mastering them! Incidentally I have found the FISHINGmagic pages an extremely useful resource in this respect. “I normally fish with my son, all coarse fishing, the waters we fish generally contain both carp and silver fish. My son tends to target the silver fish and I usually target the carp, although my son is just pipping me on weight at the moment, with a PB of 11lb with me on 10lb 6oz. “We joined the BAA earlier this year with the intention of fishing the rivers more after the start of the season. I have also just acquired a pole, so that will be a whole new experience getting to grips with the basics over the next few months. “We have a family holiday to France booked for June, on a camp site which just happens to have several fishing lakes so we will be able to spend some time brushing up on our pole and carping techniques.” If you want a chance to win a prize from Fishrite worth in the region of £ 100.00 the details are here: |
