One of the founding fathers of the Barbel Society and one of the most influential barbel anglers and writers of recent years Steve Pope is well known to generations of anglers and is one of the most respected barbel fishers in the UK.
Now living in the Welsh Marches and head over heels in love with the wild River Wye Steve’s passion for barbel is as strong now as it was when he caught his first one way back in 1963 and he has that rare gift of being able to inspire that passion in others.
