Hi fishing magic
I'm interested in fly carp fishing in the past i've caught pike on fixed spool and wish to try fly Carp and fly Pike (fishing seasons). I was wondering if there is anybody out there I can chat to???

I don't know about using a fly for carp but using a chum mixer or similar floating bait like a semi floating worm (inflating it's head section) has been on my agenda for quite a while, ever since I bought myself a fly rod and reel after watching John Wilson doing it a few years ago.

I've still yet to do it but it really looks like fun and maybe I might have a go this autumn if I can find somewhere remote to try it on.

Awesome what a lovely way to catch carp.......
I can’t imagine any commercial water allowing this but someone might say different.
Have you thought about trying a canal ? Obviously where it’s well known for carp !
Thinking about it most commercials don’t allow floating bait !
Try des Taylor he’s on face book and I’ll bet he’d put you right.
Knows his stuff too

I have caught carp on a fly rod using large-ish dark coloured flies on the surface as well as on some ;ager wet fly patterns fished just under the surface on a sink tip line.

I have also seen (but never fished for them myself) pike anglers catching on large fish fly patterns on the Scottish lochs.
