Icy weather and Comorants

I wonder if cormorants need relatively clear water to hunt, they must surely struggle if they cant see nout.

Tigger you say there isnt much to them, but could the ones you picked up not have eaten yet? I mean mebbe they aren't made of much cuz they are saving weight for lunch, so they can still take off

Im not blaming cormorants for eating fish, I was just suprised the size of fish they can eat. Clear water ponds must be easy compared to the deep vast sea

Go to Cromwell weir on the Trent when it is seriously flooded, going thro like a chocalate coloured thunderbolt laced with all kinds of flotsem and jetsom, and all day long you will see comorants coming up with fish. Years ago they used to come up with chub.roach, bream,skimmers etx. All they come up with now are eels and elvers. They have totally decimated the area.
