Agreed Mark, but like you I'm not doing any of that at approaching 70, I have some bits and bobs that I would take in the car if I thought there were some manageable problems, I must say that we must take into consideration not knowing anglers asking questions abilities or inability, having drawn many a bird cage in open and league matches that made simple methods a nightmare I wonder how any inexperienced anglers would fish without losing thirty floats and hooks, let's be honest with our experience we do things automatically that others can't imagine, I mentioned to a mate this very morning how I watched two different videos made by very highly rated match anglers on feeder fishing, stating that they always cast on their right hand sides, I was gobsmacked, so what happens when it blows a gale from your right hand side, pushing your feeder, hooklength etc into your rod, the only option is to cast from your left, I can cast equally well from either side, I taught myself to cast underarm on the float from either side, or from directly under the rod, I'm not asking for a round of applause, it's just something I did/do, like the roll casting you mention Mark, there are countless thousands of bloody good float anglers out there, but there are lots more who haven't got a clue as to why they shot this way, or that way, or cast in different ways, it's a knowledge you either search for, or don't...
