There's a defined difference between a true ferox and the rogue brownie that goes cannibal/highly predatory. Ferox by this definition come from oligotrophic glacial still waters holding a population of char that act as their primary prey species. One would imagine that they both share a similar genetic propensity to be highly pisciverous? Again much is theorised but I'm not aware of much I'm the way of recent research. Fascinating stuff though! If anyone has more info please do share it. I worked alongside Aya Thorne at Faskally for a little while. He knew his ferox that's for sure
