Can anyone tell me if any of the spools for the the 500 and 700 series of reels are interchangeable.

My 501, 506 and 704s are all interchangeable.

Thank you, thats what I wanted to hear. I just aquired a mint conditioned 706 and I can't seem to find spare spools for it.

I don't know about the 706, the only 7 I have is the 704.

Yes, that is where I first heard about the 706 and what caused me to search one out. I agree with you they do look the same but looking the same is sometimes not enough and I was looking for some confirmation. I had aleady tried my 506 spools but only in the comfort of my tackle shed and it seemed to be OK.
It was the compatibilty of the704 spools that worried me.
