Could well be right there , I can see the difence with the 12ft ultra and carp waggler but is the 12ft carp waggler the same as the plus but re named and a foot shorter ?

I would say not.
Regardles of the differences in length the 13ft plus feels more powerfull....that's my opinion of course and other people may say otherwise.
It seems quite obvious to me though.
Matt, for what you want to use your rod for i'd go for the 13ft plus if I was you.

I would prefer the 13ft but my local shop has not got any in stock and does not know when any will be in , should of bought it when saw it in the shop before Xmas.

I could order of eBay but i rather order more pricey items from a local shop .

According to my local shop, drennan stuff can take a long time to come in, particularly in the summer, better at this time of year, apparently.

I bought a rod online from AD about 18 months ago and a shorter version of the same rod a couple of months ago from the AD shop which opened nearby. In all honesty I wouldn't hesitate to get one online from them and they'll beat any price you can find, they did for me anyhow.

Thanks Mike,

I only see 1 problem ... my rod bags are for built up 12ft rods ... hmm I need a traditional rod Holdal that takes unmade rods but not too many I hate carrying too many rods

Might be worth you looking at getting a drennan quiver, maybe a larger one of their selection so thees room for several tubes if you need them.
God luck with the rod, they're superb!
