Love to, but can't!

Just to whet your appetites, it's well worth a visit.

Okay, it looks like Sunday, March 4th is the date that most can make

fishing:

  1. S-Kippy
  2. Big Parksy
  3. Graham Elliott
  4. Ian (itsfishingnot catching)
  5. Jerry (Barbelboi)
  6. Windy
I will call before 12:00 today to reserve the 4th and pay at the same time, then let you all know the actual cost.

Booked and paid for, cost is £23.50 per person (£141/6)

Fishing on Sunday, March 4th 2012, starting anytime after 08:00 hours, all swims except the Trout Beats which are clearly marked.

Prefer cash on the day or cheque, PM for address, okay?

Been going through some old threads about the LIF to check access, tackle bait etc. From what I've read:
Tackle:13'0 float rod, 4lb line, (?2lb h/l), hooks 18-14 (barbed or barbless?, floats, stick, avon or even waggler sizes 3-4BB
Bait: Maggots, Corn and bread
Entance to Fishery, SO18 3HW, Gater's Mill

What time is everyone planning on meeting?

Any recommendations on overnight accomodation for the Sunday night?
(Premier Inn or Ellington Lodge, both Eastleigh seem closest?)

The Premier Inn is literally just a couple of minutes drive to the venue.

I'd start offf slightly finer than that, size 20's hook and 1½lb B/S hooklength depending on conditions.

Maggots will always attract a few of the 'spottied things' but the Grayling as well.

Some of the swims will respond to a small maggot feeder fished tight across and can rewsult in some nice Roach.

The 'house pool' by the bridge is a good swim too but you need a long landing net handle, Roach, Perch and the odd Chublet too from there.

Always worth having a Barbel rod set-up in the car, just in case as well . . . . . . . . .

Andy had a gorgeous 12lb 12 ounce specimen from there a couple of years ago.
