I clicked that link ****y and saw a familiar name that used to post on here many years ago - Budgie Burgess. Anyone else remember Budgie?

If I remember rightly he organised fishing tours on the continent, also if I remember rightly, did'nt a close friend/relative pass away and it affected him quite badly.

I forgot all about you Mr ****y

I don't believe that for a minute Del :) I'm up there with ex-X Factor winners when it comes to being a legend in my own lunchbox ;)

Budgie was a Regular Contributor on FM back in the Granville Marsbar years,

He gave me some good tips on tackle before I went on my first mahseer trip some 6-8 years ago...

Budgie's cat-fishing mate Luke Moffat was known as 'Catweasel' and was regularly seen on Matt Hayes' Total Fishing

"Kevin has been around a long time, hes an excellent researcher and writer and a very successful carp and all round specialist angler."

Nearly as long as you Nick, how are you my friend?
Kev.
x

I`m good thanks Kev, still chasing slappers, yes Kevins been around a while, first heard of him in the early 70s , dont remember him from the 60s though, but I expect he was out there making his way like the rest of us. I know he had some great Yorkshire barbel catches in the early 70s, I`ll still have the cuttings somewhere, very impressive for the time and they inspired us to chase Yorkshire barbel at the time, but it was such a drag getting over there because the M62 hadnt been built then and we had no barbel in the Ribble or Dane in those distant days

*****y hell Kev you not owning up to knowing Nick are you? I try not to if at all possible :)

Who me, in print, when, where, I resent that accusation.....the reports were wholly inaccurate that appeared in the Manchester Evening News I was found not guilty on all charges. It's infamy, infamy I tell you ;):D

Lol, dont let my mate here fool you, hes been about as long if not longer than me on the specialist scene, haha How are you mate, must get round for a brew sometime, lol

yep.......make that 6......fame is a concept perceived.. and applied to others...by a person/persons...usualy with lowish self esteem....seeking to elevate others to a higher social standing.....there is no such thing..as a famous angler....there is no such thing as fame...it only exists in the mind of those seeking to apply it to others!!!!

There is no danger of your name being put in the limelight then is there.
