The Original White Azores & The New Blues Still Spinning!
I currently own 11 Azores, the original whites once sold by Sports Authority & the new Blues from Okuma. So what has changed? The gearing in the new Blues have been enlarged for salt water fishing. It's thicker & beefier now for salt water usage. If you take care of your gear, like i do, you can still use the original white series. I've already hooked a 5ft GT and fought it in on the original White Azores 65, which is now the Blue Azores 8000. Lost it before gaffing it but captured the whole hook-up on video.
The sizing has also changed- Original White Series vs the new Blue Series!
40 is now the 4000.
55 is now the 6000.
65 is now the 8000.
80 is now the 14000.
Since i've received the Blue Series i'm still hooking Jacks to Bonefish. Recently the famous reel reviewer Alan Hawk has rated the Blue Azores in 3rd Place for Spinning Reels Top Picks For Best General Use Saltwater Reels Under $150!
