Boats on canals

On a canal I fish occasionally, the only boat used to be the horse drawn barge for taking people on a sightseeing trip.
Never caused any bother and was obviously quiet.
They then opened it up to boating, and now in summer especially it is full of people in motorised craft of all sizes.
It's only an average of about 30 ft wide.
This has completely spoilt it for angling.

Yes, it's gone from being a tranquil rural spot to like Butlins in summer.

It still is on its day, although imo it's not as good as it used to be, even taking the boats into account.
To be fair, if you go on a weekday evening it's not too bad boat wise.
 
Top
