Braid for beach fishing

Hi there , can anyone tell me if braid is any good for beach fishing, iv`e been out of touch with beach casting for a while, so it would be great for any info on the subject. Thanks.

tryed it on estuaries when match fishing in the n.e had to give up kept tangling and knottin its self up in fast tides those good mono'in the carp and pike range i use now.

The answer is yes as long as you use the right kind. The soft carp type braids that flatten out are useless as they bed in on the spool. I use Fireline as its a stiff roundish profile. I and freinds have used this for the last 4-5 years.

the only problem that we have encountered is when there is a lot of weed around as when this gets on the line it can break your weight out.

i use whiplash pro on a f/s reel and have had no problems at all.
