They are the mtq tips. Orange is 1oz yellow is 1.5 and red is 2oz.
These can be bought separately if needs be. £39:99 each....

Thanks Peter.

I've just brought one online, and awaiting its arrival. Just wondered what two tips come with the initial rod purchase.

Nowhere in the bumf tells you which 2 you get so I'm unsure. At a guess I'd say the 2oz and the 1.5?
Fantastic bit of kit though, enjoy it...

I would guess they're the same type of tips as my 9/10 Spectron - the hollow carbon ones - and they really are rather excellent. Pretty sure mine has three: 0.5, 1 and 1.5. Forty quid's a bit steep for a wrap-around, though. :(

Arrived today with a 1 oz and a 1.5 oz tip. Nice piece of kit too.

Unless I'm fishing rivers would those tips be sufficient on standard commercials for carp and the like?

Thanks.

Richard.

I should ask does anyone know the suggested casting weights for such light tips? I understand the line rating, thanks all.

Ive used the lightest white tip on my garbolino rocket picker to cast a 20g method feeder and had carp to the 10lb Mark on it with no problems so I think the tips should be fine on your rod for commercial carp

The tips work as an extension to the rod's action and don't come under too much stress during the cast. Just don't exceed the rod's suggested casting weight and it'll be fine.

Rob.

What is the suggested casting weight. That's my question?

I would think you'll be safe up to 45g (loaded feeder or bomb) with a line rating of 2-8lb. My 9/10 Spectron (same rating) chucks the 30 grammers a country mile.

Edit - That's interesting: just checked the information written on mine (model number SPF910Q-AU) and it's actually rated at 2-10lb and has CQ tips (whatever that means) of 1, 1.5 and 2oz. The addition of the 1ft extension makes it a more powerful rod than the waif-thin 9 footer and extends its repertoire from picker to poker...albeit a progressive-actioned and flexible poker! At 10ft it's probably capable of chucking a couple of ounces, no sweat, although it's never been pushed yet.
