Hi all. Has anyone used one of the feeder floats / baggin wagglers for barbel?

I've started fishing a stretch of the Avon near my new work and have had little success off the bottom. Was thinking this might be a good approach for barbel and chub.

I was thinking something like these

, BUT I'm not very experienced on the rivers and tbh don't really know what I'm doing with regards to targeting barbel. I'm also a terrible shot and when I've tried to bait up when trotting it's either on the other bank or far too short, I thought this might help concentrate feed around my hookbait

Hi Tom,
I've tried using these in still & gently moving water (canals) - with some success - but they're horrible floats! They just feel so wrong and 'clunky'

They work a lot better if you stop thinking about them as floats - but think of them as floating feeders - and use them as mid-water running ledgers.

Not tried them in rivers - but might try them when I'm getting desparate - usually about half-way through a session!:D:D

Tight Lines!
