Fixed paternoster

Do the members of the forum believe a fixed paternoster fished traditionally, i.e with an hooklength of lower braking strain than the main line, is an 'unsafe' rig?
My current approach at the local pit, which isn't too weedy at the moment, is 6Ibs Drennan Super specialist, 4 turn water knot using 4Ibs of the same as the hook length.

Personaly I rarely use a fixed led, I think its a lot safer to use a running paternoster rig, or a semi-fixed. On the rare times I use a fixed rig its only held in place by a small split shot so that the rig easly comes apart should I snap up. Infact, I can see no reason at all for using any form of permantly fixed lead.

When fishing for bream, mainly on the river, I always use a simply fixed paternoster rig with a lower breaking strain hook length. When swing tipping at night on the canal again I use the same simple rig. When I’ve been snagged, not too often – touch wood, I’ve always been broken at the hook knot, bomb knot or the feeder knot. However, after two or three trips I always strip off 40 – 50 metres of main line and dump it and about every two months bump the whole of my line.
