Just looking for some feedback on 13ft float rods.
Having broken my old Daiwa tip off I'm looking for a replacement without breaking the bank.
I'm looking for something for rivers, lighter rather than heavy action.
Any suggestions please?

Quite disappointing really
Everything is aimed at commercials/carp really
That cadence rod is still available on eBay … at a really great price.

what rod are you replacing? Just found it … conny z stick, so a spliced tip rod. the cadence are not spliced, but very few are these days (basically the John Allerton).

In simple terms a rod could be described as tip action, progressive, or all through. IMO, the commercial float rods are mainly progressive to all through, to absorb the lunges of hard fighting carp.
I see the cadence #2 as tip to progressive, very similar in fact to my 35 year old Tri-cast aristocrats (which are spliced tip) - but with a bit more power in the middle and butt for those larger fish. I use mine for stick, waggler and Bolo methods and don’t find it lacking.
I know that James (who runs cadence in the UK) sent his carbotecs to the manufacturer as the design basis for these rods … how closely they measure up is a different matter 😆.
any tackle shop will pretty much only have Drennan Acolytes as an alternative … and they are a marmite rod (love/hate).
whereabouts are you?
