Flooded stillwater fishing

Hi,

I decided to brave the weather on Sunday and spent the day fishing a still water in Milton Keynes. It rained constantly and very heavily for 6 hours! When I arrived, the small stream that fed the water looked more like a raging torrent. As a result, the lake fished more like a river with us resorting to trotting through the swim. The water level rose by about 12 inches in 3 hours.

I had an excellent days fishing with over 150 quality roach to 1.5lbs which given the conditions surprised me.

Sorry for the long winded route to the question but here it is! Would flood conditions usually improve stillwater fishing or not. Has anyone else had experience of increased results during flood fishing given if what were told is true, we'll be fishing many more flodds from here on in!

Tight lines

If the water entering the lake is warmer than the lake water and it also colours it up, then I'd say that you'd be almost guarenteed good fishing.
