My own prefernce in flood conditions is for a crease swim with some slack water down the near side. To be honest this is only to make life easier for me as it means that I can sink my line in the slack water, keeping the line out in themain current close to the bottom.
I'm not sure that the pace of a swim really matters - any swim that you can fish with reasonable tackle is likely to produce barbel.
That was great Sean, I really enjoyed the read, and the accompanying pic's where spot on. In fact it made me want to get the gear out and go have a stab at the barb's myself, well done.
Excellent read Sean, many thanks. Single minded as ever, what were you going to use the maggots for if you were supposed to be Zander fishing? Just in case?
