Well i have managed to do a couple of 48hr sessions out on the trent since i purchased my supabrolly and i have to say i'm realy impressed with it,the coverage and available space is second to none when it comes to brollies...and i have owned most of the major ones(trakker, nash, aqua, etcetc) at one time or another,so i am speaking from experience when i say the coverage is beyond exceptional....it is truly awsome for a brolly.

Right let's get down to the nitty gritty of performance,....both the sessions that i fished were wet and at times pretty windy to say the least....in fact in rained so hard during a thunderstorm, that the rain was bouncing a good 8inches off the roof of my car parked behind me but there was not one hint of a leak from the supabrolly.....the drainage rib sewn into the brolly did a great job of channeling the water down the sides at the front.(99.9%of the time)..instead of it just pouring straight in over the lip and soaking my kit....i also noticed that the water "beaded"and ran off the skin very quickly and efficiently...so no pooling water....and stability in the wind was realy superb.

As far as build quality goes...first impressions are exelent...the stitching looked good as did the seam tapes...and all the ribs are attached mechanicly by nut and bolt the the center hub..instead of the usual flimsy roll pins...should one ever need to be replaced..this will make life so much easier.
The ground sheet is of medium weight and seem to be of a good quality(very similar to my old ultralite one...just not as heavy duty) and velcro's into position pretty well.

So....to sum it all up....fantastic coverage....huge amount of space for a brolly...well built....good material...rigid...does what it said on the tin...and a whole lot more....also iv'e had confirmation from fox...that a wrap should be available towards the end of the year......i think this is going to be a true classic folks...fox will sell thousands of them...if first impressions hold true....without doubt...one of the best £150 i ever spent....!

Nice review. Too early for me to give well informed views on the Supa Brolly as I only got mine last weekend (at a bargain price:)). From all I've seen (and heard) so far, I'm impressed. Hopefully, that will remain the case after a fair bit of time and a few good downpours. Judging how quickly these are selling when shops actually get stock, I suspect that they've already far outstripped Fox's expectations for them. The forthcoming wrap may just make the Supa Brolly one of the best options on the market for a long stay angler that's on a water that requires a high degree of mobility.

One thing you've failed to make much of an issue of is the mechanism that affords the huge amount of space you've alluded to. Why it's taken quite so long for someone to come up with this type of mechanism is quite beyond me. Unlike most brolly systems, the amount of space lost due to the mech is absolutely minimal. It makes an awful lot of otherwise good brolly systems look quite daft. Until the Supa Brolly came along, I've avoided brolly systems due to the lack of headroom caused by the mechanism. Even without the aid of crystal balls, I can see quite a few copycat systems turning up in the next year or two.

Thank you sam....i agree....why it has taken so long for a designer to come up with this..is beyond me......so simple.......but the best ideas always are.....i also agree that the addition of a wrap...is going to elevate the status of the supabrolly to a must have item for the mobile angler.....and a lot of others too....(so come on fox....pull your finger out..and get one on the market!!!!!).....fox seem to be coming up with some good ideas at the moment.......proper floodwater rods for big rivers etc!....got a pair of their new 2.75lb specialist rods a few weeks ago....(next review)as wasn't gonna use my torrix's for chuckin 8oz feeders across the trent etc ......never owned any of their kit other than a pair of the first 10,000 stratos'(****) before...so..always put off by quality issues...time will tell on the "supa".....but it has the potential to be an awsome bit of kit.....as you say....give it a couple of british winters...and let's see how we feel about it then.

Re: fox supabrolly..update.

have fished another 6-7 48hr sessions since my last post..in all sorts of conditions...and the supa brolly is holding up well.....never one hint of a leak...all pegging points still intact...no sign of any stiching fraying etc...infact every time i use it..i am more impressed with it....i know it's early days yet..but in the 6wks i've had it...i have clocked up nearly 400hrs of bankside time..and i have to say... so far.. this brolly has been outstanding....i know there is a lot of interest in this product.so i will update this review on a regular basis throughout the rest of the season..and give as much info as possible to help those thinking of buying one....but as things stand...i dont think you could spend a better £150....nuff said realy....and no!....i am not a fox field tester...........yet!..lol

There's been Fox promo pictures found on a German website and a Fox employee has openly stated that a wrap is in development.

Fox Supa Brolly Overwrap Karpfenangeln Zelte & Schirme

I know that until it's on the shelves of the tackle shops things can go awry, but I don't think you can get much more definite until that actually happens.
