Anyone who reads my HDYGO posts will know I fish rather heavy gear a lot of the time. After having lost so many big fish to snags in my first few years here I gradually developed outfits that give me a rod that shows bites and bends nicely but has enough left to handle the bruisers that are always nearby. Lines and terminal tackle were not full on big fish rigs but needed to be well chosen materials and have reserve strength. Sounds "unsporting" but it's a compromise that suits me.
This video shows a more match angling approach in the attractive town of Cahors, I am in the town quite frequently but have never fished there - yet!
These anglers appear to know what they are doing, though looking at the river in spate conditions I know there would have been big carp and silure under their rod tips. I would not have been able to resist dropping a double boilie bait in the river, just clear of the submerged vegetation!
