I find myself with an unexpected few days of this years holiday entitlement to use up and my mind turned back to the Catfish Fish-ins of yore....
Those of you who have been hanging around on here for longer than is healthy will need no introduction to the event.
If the coffin dodgers will bear with me, for the benefit of the newbies, the Catfish Fish-ins started as an exercise for those of us who were (and in my case still am
) a Catfish virgin.... A weekend bivvying and socialising with fellow FM'ers around a suitable Catfish containing venue, over a suitably hot and humid August Friday / Sat / Sun / Monday (or one or two nights of the above, as you wish).
A successful yearly event for five or six years and even the occasional Catfish was caught. However it was suspended the year of the great Marsden bash and never got restarted thereafter.
So.... anyone interested in a night or three under canvas in August sometime listening to the monsoon and hurricane force winds outside* ?
I know its a bit shortish notice, but worth the ask if anyone else might be interested in making a modest fish-in of it ?.
If so perhaps drop me a pm ?

* PS. This is not a joke. The origin of my reputation as a weather Jonah lies in the history of the Catfish specials.... believe me, we saw some real weather !
