Hi , Been fishing myself since i was 8 catching roach and tench on the leeds liverpool in maghull. Now I'm in my Forties living in cheshire mostly Carp fishing , I eat sleep and breath my fishing but still don't seem to get out enough. :j

I used to fish at Old Roan!

It truly is a small world, did you fish near vernons by the pads??

We used to get the train over, get off at Old Roan and walk up and down depending on how full the canal was, I couldn't tell you the names of the specific lengths, but yes we used to fish for tench alongside pads.

Have you fished there recently? I bet it's empty now!

Went back last year visiting family nearby and could not resist a look at the canal. Empty banks and I could spot roach,tench and carp.I may give it a try for nostalga one day. Right now though just fancy a few chub from the weaver.
