See if you can find a source of Fishtek Lure-Savers. I've used them in the past in conjunction with big leads when barbel fishing snaggy bits of the Trent.
Know the feeling I have lost five lures recently one reason why many of my lures are second hand off ebay.
You have to sometimes cast where the snags are and in my case a large oak tree didn't want to give me my lures back.
Have you ever tried pulling for a break on 50lb braid something as to give and the tree won.

Ah.......somebody else suffering from the "turn your picture on its side" gremlin.
Has anybody got any idea why this happens ? I dont get the option to rotate the pic after loading. Maybe I should turn it on its side before uploading ?
Done that and it don't work. I am baffled. Pete

Before you submit your reply, click on go advanced
And then preview post.
That will show if your photo is the right way up or not.
There is a more appropriate thread for discussing photo orientation, link below.
testing picture rotation
If it's any consolation it happens to me! The pic is taken in landscape mode , it appears that way on my iPad but inverts when posted!!! There is a thread put up by PC on photo alignment in bait box!

Thusday found me on the banks of the Stour not long after sunrise, (It was a vertical sunrise not a horizontal one, I have tried to rectify the photo without success). Still recovering from an attack of gout and was a bit tender so three hours was going to be plenty. I was up for some stick float and maggot fishing so and roach and dace would do nicely, thanks very much. First run through brought this:
The next three hours followed a similar pattern and by 11.30 I'd had 53 fish was well satisfied so decided to wrap. I'd had enough and everything was beginning to stiffen up (well not everything only the things that don't matter). Walking back to the car I was amazed by the number of anglers on the bank. Normally in the week I'm the only lunatic on the bank but today it was solid. I had a craic with two pike anglers who had moved to Stour having been fishing the Royalty earlier. Their were using great wobbly latex things that looked like the toys little boys frighten little girls with, but my knowledge of pike fishing is sadly lacking. I got to the car park and there were seven cars there. As I stowed my gear a guy I had not seen for twenty years arrived and I said how surprised I was to see so many out. You should have been here at the weekend he said, it was heaving. Why is that then I asked. There's been an outbreak of KHV he said and all the clubs Lakes are closed. Driving home I reflected that it's an ill wind blows no one any good and maybe some of the stillwater exiles might find river fishing to their liking. You can but live in hope. Pete
