Some parts of the Thames seem to be fine, other parts are rushing through.
Then you have the smaller rivers like the windrush and Cherwell that are dark brown and rushing through when they are not over the banks,

I spent many, many years fishing the Thames around Oxford, from Tadpole Bridge,Newbridge,as far down a Wallingford and Benson, the river is a pig in winter once flow rates pick up and numbers of fish caught can be low,I just like the river though Mark,as I say it is around 55miles at the closest, which doesn't sound overly far,but the roads these days have more 30mph limits with cameras, along with more traffic making it a minimum 1hr 20min trip, which after a days fishing is an unnecessary accompaniment..
