I think this news item is a reminder to anyone that is thinking of illegally stocking. It's just not worth it. The fish in one water may have become immune to a disease, but introduce one of those fish somewhere else, and the disease will wipe out the existing stock.
It might be a temptation, if for example, you have to travel 100 miles round trip to barbel fish, to bring a few home and stock them in your local river. But it's just not worth the short term gain, if fish deaths (including the ones stocked !!) are the result.
