Dose anyone know of any insurance company that provides insurance for fishing tackle as my company won't cover it.

My insurance company will only cover me for tackle in a shed if I have an alarm fitted.
I worked out the cost of replacing all my gear, it gave me such a shock that I now keep it all locked up tight indoors. Pronblem is that with insurance its a bit of a post code lottery. Try GRE.

Just spoke to my ins.co.(legal and General)My tackle is insured for theft from my house or garage up to a max of ?1500. If I can demonstrate the shed was locked it would be insured for a max of ?1000 if it was stolen from the shed. Also it is covered for ?1000 if it is stolen from a unoccupied vehicle.

My household insurance covers me for up to ?3000 for personnal items. I left a rod holdall against a tree when packing up. They paid out ?2100, no questions asked. All i had to do was prove I had had it. So i showed them picture or the rods on a pod,...as u do...and another pic where the holdall was in the background, and that was enough proof for them.
Check for personnal items in your clause!

my household covers me for theft and damage. Last year I fell off a fence with all my kit on my shoulders and my Avon in my hand-guess what i fell on?
Anyway, they paid for a new Diawa barbel specialist-no probs.
I could get the insurance cheaper, but its done through the house/mortgage, but never had a quibble when I got burgled, fell thru the ceiling, flooded the upstairs and fell on my rod.....
