I know the river here, if it was ebbing or flooding he would have been swept away in no time time at all, he had clothing on which would have have dragged him down as well. Apparently 4 people jumped in after him but he would have been 30/40 yards away in seconds and it's as muddy as hell, no chance of seeing him. A terrible thing for someone so young to go like that.
A reminder to be very very careful around tidal muddy stretches of rivers, they are trecherous places..

He was with going out in a boat with family so if he wasn’t wearing a buoyancy aid the question needs asking?
