I agree with Matt B that the Fox predator is a great barbel net and at a good price.
It also is a great net for big bream and tench plus i've had a mid 20 carp in it.
?50 Ron.... I won't tell you what else I'd have wanted for that price !

I was very impressed when I saw Andy (The One piece) Nellist's net on the Ribble.

I had to have one and now I got one.

Graham has the same net too I think.

One day when I have some money I will also possess the ultimate landing net handle. Made by Harrisons it goes for about ?80.00.

)

I've got the Drennan super specialist 22" net and find it brilliant it's also available in larger sizes. Apparently fish think it's a patch of weed on occasions and will dive into it.

They're a nice design and good value but you'll struggle with fish over 7 or 8lb.

Matt, I've got the Drennan 22" and last autumn landed a surprise 15lb odd River Swale Carp in it with plenty of room to spare.

our kid tells me there is a new 'RUBBER MESH' landing net on the market, has anyone bought one of these and if so what do you think of it?

Bob, I had a 22" oval spoon that I use for Chub and Roach. I have picked up the odd bonus Barbel and really struggled with them. Barbel are quite longer than Carp.

"Barbel are quite longer than Carp"

Granted Matt, my PB Barbel was a bit of a struggle in my old 24" spoon net (I've just measured it) but the shape and depth of the Drennan will accommodate much larger fish. You'd have to see one, I've just had the tape measure in it on an angle and it'll take a 3'fish, honest injun, no shit ;-)

Bob, I've seen them. When Drennan advertised them I was very keen indeed but was disappointed to see that they didn't do a larger size.

If you're happy with the size of yours, then that's great (ooeerr missus!).

Misprint in previous post!!

Should have been 30" fish, my brain was not functioning correctly, working in base 10 instead of 12.

Large enough for my local needs, I don't think I'll be visiting Adams Mill any time soon ;-)
