I like shots because you can move them up and down the trace, adjust weight quickly etc etc.

Think I've now found a cheaper method of doing it.

I've tried plasticene and didn't really get on with it.

Great for making little Morphs etc between runs, but not exactly de rigeur kit for the modern piker I'm afraid.

Fear not, plasticine is an inert none toxic substance. Can you imagine the uproar if it was in anyway toxic? It's a standard child's play material. It is actually less toxic than that very child friendly 'Play Doe' - spelling?

Trouble is it flies off when you cast and I haven't got time for all this clove hitch a matchstick on your line mallarkey.

I suppose you could stuff one through the eye of the trace swivel but that would stop it turning, meaning mega tangles when a bait spins on the way in.

Can anyone suggest a make of shot (especially sizes 6 & 4) that doesn't slide down the line when put under the pressure of constantly casting, striking and retrieving a float?

I use Anchor and Thamesly and it's a pain in the ****.
