Yesterday I finally used it, loaded with 2lbs bs mono, on the float, the reel was pretty impressive for the price, the line lay isn't bad, but catching cru's and tench on light gear the drag performed better than many reels 7 times the price, is probably won't have a long lifespan, but for that price what can you expect...

Mine hasn’t been out of its box yet, I bought it to try it for drop shotting.

I had a 9lb barbel from the Charente on the eight quid Crivit 3000 reel about three or four years ago Alan. And a 6lb one last year from the Lot. It has been my holiday reel for around 10 years.

Funnily enough Keigh I bought mine to lrf fish for small wrasse in Poole Harbour whilst on holiday, I normally use 500 or 1000 sized reels and felt this was slightly too big, so carried on with my Shimano 1000 gtm...

I used my 1 year old Crivit 3000 for the first time last week, not really a good trial since I only had a brace of bream up to about 3lb.
But it worked OK, seems more free running than I would really like. But at its price point the only reason I would take a dislike to it would be if it jammed and stopped me fishing, seems a reel ( Oh) bargain.

I have 4 of the lidl reels and have found them to be really good. I also have similar sized Shimano baitrunners which cost considerably more but are no better!
