Mono v Braid

I mainly use combi links made with snake skin.

Interesting that I didnt even realise that the tread was 5 Years old till I read the second to last post.

I dont think the situation has changed much really. All hooklenghts have there right time and place to be used now as they did then. Did Carp Angler (Big Rik I believe?) ever write the article?

Just to stick my 2 penneth in.....

Love fishing on braid but went back to mono for two reasons.....

A. Most of the waters round my area are banning braid rightly or wrongly, this applies to mainline and hook links

B. I love fishing the method, and i found that when fishing with a braided mainline, the force excerted when you had a "good un" on meant that even brushing over a stone would cut me off like a knife through butter. Lost 2-3 like this so i switched back.

Only whinge about mono is the elastic band feeling when you try and strike anything past about 60 feet!
