hi would a 10ft quiver tip rod be a suitable substitute for a pellet waggler this is an old sundridge turbo quiver and little used for what it was designed for and be more useful as a p/w rod
thanks

Just bear in mind that the pellet waggler method requires constant casting and retrieving with a fast pick up for lightening takes. As has been said give it a try.

think its only way, the other alternative is avonrod to cope with repetition but t/c is 1 1/2 lb which i think might effect pick up on strike

wouldn't like to use an avon rod for the pellet waggler mate.
The amount of casting and reeling in would soon make your arms ache.

:confused::confused:

I regularly use my Avon rod for fishing the waggler as I know it will handle the Carp. It's no heavier than any other rod I have....

The fella asked about the pellet waggler which is a very busy method of fishing thats why the rods are lighter.
I have not seen an avon rod that is lighter than a pellet waggler rod ,maybe i have not looked hard enough.

I have both an Avon and a PW made by Drennan, two very different rods with different weights.

The weight and balance of a feeder rod will be different to a float rod. Also the eyes used would be different as well, a float rod would use long legged eyes to keep the line away from the blank, a feeder rod will have the reverse to keep the line close to the blank.

It will work, I've done it myself just not as well
