I've just bought an avon rod which comes with three quiver tips. The three tips are 0.75 oz, 1.5oz & 2oz. what exactly does that equate to, is it the maximum casting weight that the tip can cope with? or is is it a measure of its sensitivity?

Quiver tips are normally rated by the test curve in the same way as a rod is.It certainly sounds like yours are. So,yes,in a way it is a measure of sensitivity.

In case you are not sure about test curves,it is the weight/pull required to bend the tip so it is pointing at 90 degrees from where it started.(basically forming a quarter circle with the rod or quiver)

The rod will normally have a maximum reccomended casting weight which should be OK for any of the quivers.
