November 2022 and another Redditch tackle fair comes and goes. Always a welcome meet and greet event where we swap stories and tackle.

Thomas Turner used the venue to proudly demonstrate and sell the new Classic+ range of rods and centre pin reels. Customers from as far as Norwich and London came to test and buy the rods. A successful day all around.

It was a departure from the usual TT display of antique reels and rods and it worked well. The team were buying from both pre-arranged customers and walk-in sellers acquiring a mixed collection to offer on our website.

Reels of note included; a rarely seen Eric Williams Centre Caster with papers and box. The reel being a combination of spin-cast and trotting reel in one. One of my all-time favourites, the rare Augermatic spinning reel with lever line release came in and is in full working order.

Carrie was tasked to find how best to display a handmade float in a miniature Isaac Walton character jug whilst Dave and I sought out more collectables.

Of note are the two salesman sample plug boxes above. Each lure print signed by a famous or trophy winner in the bass and pike fishing scene. These will make great Christmas presents, even if only for yourself.

With selective buying we were able to build up a great selection of tackle. Modern Hardy, Vosseler, Orvis, Sage reels. Rods by Bloke, Hardy, Farlow and many others will be offered for sale on the Thomas Turner website. Creels, gadgets, wood and brass reels, nets and much more for both collectors and anglers alike.

If you have items or collection for sale, get in touch with either Dave or John and let’s talk tackle!
