I think that sea anglers should have a daily bag limit on each species. When you have caught your limit you pack up.
Many years ago on the Kwazulu Natal coast you could catch as many as 50 shad (Bluefish) in a session. I've seen such catches taken on several occasions.
Then for several years, you could get none. The Natal Parks Board brought in a bag limit of 4 shad per angler per day.
Today, the fish are back in numbers and the bag limit is zealously enforced. Four good eating fish should satisfy any true angler.
