Les, there are two excellent rivers in the Sheffield area, the River Don and the River Rother. Most of the fishing on theDon is in the hands of the Rotherham & District association. I suggest you visit a good local tackle shop who will help you with club books, day tickets etc. The Rother near where I fish is controlled by the BTC angling Association who only charge ?10.00 per year for membership.
Both the Don and the Rother are getting better as the years progress. The Don is an excellent roach river and also contains barbel, chub, trout, dace, bream, some of them to good sizes. If you want to know more about the rivers around Sheffield, give me a call on 0114 2693999 office hours.
