Small PVA bags for canals

Hello all, hope you're all safe and well during this.

Just thinking over some things to try when we can next fish... Say you had some bread crumb, micro pellets, maggots, plus your hook bait in a small pva bag and fished it on the canal (with a quiver tip), is there any reason this method wouldn't work?

It's effectively fishing with a method feeder without the excess weight to spook the very small fish. I'd have a few BB or Swan shot a bit further up the line to anchor it and I feel you'd still see bites registered.

Interested to see if anyone has tried this method for smaller fish?

It's only the same as using a swim feeder, if boats are moored on far side, try and casting between the boats and fish at the bow of the boat, that way you will not get snagged up in propeller.

I can't see the advantage over using a catty being that canals are so narrow.

Not all canals are narrow, or shallow.

I was more thinking that with a rod and reel (don't have a pole) presenting your hook over the groundbait is nigh on impossible. And with 8oz roach aplenty, even the smallest feeder does you no good. But when the wind is funneling down the canal, they're no place for even a waggler
