I caught loads of tench on my titan 2000,some pretty good ones too,but I wouldn't use it in a tight situation, that's why I mention the specimen match,I wouldn't hesitate to use it in a hole surrounded by solid weed, wouldn't want to put your Avenger through that on 6lb mono...but if you've done so and it's up to the job, great stuff.
12-9 I think,I got mine after years of looking and yes it is rated to 8lb.Are you on about the Avenger 2000 Ian???
Can't remember that far back,lol.
Or what is wrong with the series 7 pellet or carp waggler rods ? Reel lines to 7 lb it states ... noticed acrotytes are no way cheap ! £180

The series 7 tench and specimen float rod . I have had a few other 7 series too they was ok but wasn't overly impressed with them .You said didn't like the series 7 rods?
Cheers Jason. The acolyte is looking best one so far thats a new rodgreys rods are pretty poo nowadays, save your money and buy something decent
For Tench, i use my Peston 12.6 Askai heavy float rod. Shame they don't make them any more. They do come up every now and then on ebay. Had Tench, Barbel, carp. on it. A sensertive tip that even silver make it wiggle.
