Stunning Alex Martin “The Thistle” 4 ¼” Perfect pattern vintage alloy salmon fly reel, looks like Dingley,( no D) large copper O ring line guide, faceplate stamped “Thistle, Alex Martin, Glasgow, Edinburgh & Aberdeen”, 2 1/8” across frame, working rim tension regulator to crisp internal check clicker, ball bearing on the main shaft, no play or wobble,ventilated faceplate with nickel left hand screw, correct 85mm smooth brass foot, this beautiful reel retains virtually all original finish, comes in best collector condition, suited to fishing by cane, carbon or fibreglass fly rods.
