@GT56 Yeah I'm starting to go the same way. The other day I was fishing on a small club lake here in Lincolnshire and I decided to experiment by netting anything and everything caught. The one thing I did notice immediately is how the stress levels for me as an angler were somehow reduced. I can't say for certain that swinging does any damage at all but the one big advantage I can see is that once your fish is in the net it cant ping onto the peg, that's a bonus. I have a long handle net and a small short handle one so I choose the appropriate net for the size.
