I try not to go into tackle shops too much, I know I should support them but simple on the spur of the moment purchases really add up.
However you can get some bargains on the internet. I got a Harrison 14ft GTI SU for just over £27. I know it’s old and there is better to be had, but for the little heavy trotting I do, it will do. It just needs rebuilding, blank OK rings are mostly reusable, butt is cosmetically poor.
I like a project anyway.

It's shocking, what a small bag you need to put £50 of tackle bits in. At my ts they always say, want a carrier Kev?, and I say no I'll put them in my pocket.

Providing that you have removed the oversized packaging. Some of those blister packs are huge and built to resist a nuclear explosion.

Sounds like Trigger's broom

Prices are getting that bad we'll be going back to buying single hooks once again.

Have you tried asking the bloke in the shop if he could sharpen your used ones?

I'm lucky in a way , when I was using to set ups , one was grab n go, the other for matches. I doubled up on what I needed , hooks , shot ,stotz , line for hook lengths , feeders floats , had plenty of pole rigs . bread punches.
Now that I only fish a couple of matches due to venues here , I don't need to too anything up .
I saw a Harrison 13' float rod on a selling site , £30 , it looked in good condition . Had full cork handle and sliding fittings . Just my luck it was in the northwest and I wasn't going up there this weekend , otherwise I would have messaged the seller and stopped off and bought it .

Lots of gear for sale is'nt really required, but l know it's all personal. I've been receiving weekly sometimes twice weekly e-mails from AD advertising products for over two years now and only gone in once for a pair of alarms that were, tbh too small so I left the shop empty handed.

I last went in a tackle shop about 6 months ago, I did not buy anything but was tempted. It a bit like kid in a sweet shop. In the past I would think nothing of popping in and coming out with a new rod or reel. Now I just don't need anything I have my own over stocked tackle shop in the garage.
