telescopic avon

Has anyone used a John Wilson (or similar ) telescopic avon rod? I am thinking of getting one principally for a (family) holiday to Sweden where I hope to get a few sessions in , but don't really know what for yet. They are not cheap and would like to hear of others who have used them. No shops locally stock them , so I'll have to do it mail order. Thanks.

I have heard good reports about the John Wilson range and the DAM range. Not used them, but I know some big names in Carping use both types.

Keith. I've got the JW tele Avon. Very nice rod. I was very, very surprised. I bought mine mail order through the fishing warehouse pretty average price. Now the rub. I've not actually had chance to use the bugger which is extremely infuriating. It really does feel very nice though and certainly not like a tele. Hope to use it in the next few weeks if I am well enough.
