I've never fished that stretch either but if it's got water and the chance of a fish I'm up for it......

Re: Thames January 2015

I'm up for it as long as it's not pouring down all day.

I haven't fished the Thames for about 20 years, so I'm looking forward to it.

Might take the drop shot rig.............

Might take mine too, not caught anything on my drop-shot tackle yet LOL..

Haven't got a pole anymore so will have to trot a float or fish a feeder.

Wherever it's finally decided to hold it I am looking forward to it and putting faces to the names LOL

The fishing at Walton is much the same as the other stretches in the area such as Laleham, Chertsey, Shepperton or Hampton ct.
The upside is free parking whereas the others are tricky or expensive.
Fair to say in January it won't be easy fishing. Roach, dace and perch can be caught on stick, waggler or pole. Feeder tactics for bream and roach.
Depths vary but 10' is average.
It does hold some big perch and pike too.
Stick me down please Raymondo...

I'll come if I'm in London that week, so put me down as a possible.
I haven't fished for some years at Walton. There was a circus of bivvies making a near permanent camp there for some time. Not sure if they were barbelling, carp or cat fishing, carbellingmost them, but they took up most of the available swims. There are good perch near the bridge and some cracking roach if you can find them upstream at the end of the island. Bream and pike throughout

I remember fishing upstream of Walton Bridge when I was 15 (that's 50 years ago!). Memorable because it was my first netful of quality roach, all taken on ledgered cheese. A fish every cast. By some lucky chance I had found a big shoal of fish.
Maybe their distant relatives are still there still feeding on lumps of cheese.

I have it on good authority that the Legendary mid-60s 'All-you-can-eat' Great Cheese Picnic is still revered in the area and its rumoured return is looked-on as a sort of 'Second Coming'! ;):)
Just hope it's not too cold for the Cracker Barrel causing you to resort to the Daiylea!
Tight Lines!

If anyone has a contact address then maybe someone should get in touch to see it this is still going forward . . . . . . ?

Peter, is it worth sending Ray a PM? I'm not sure if it works for all providers but all the PM's sent to me have a notification in my gmail account where I may either read them in gmail or FM - or both.
